From city events to council meetings, if it's going on in Herculaneum, it's listed here on the city calendar. Check back often for updates.

Council meetings are the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7:00 PM at the Herculaneum City Hall. If you wish to address the council, you will need to call City Hall and request to be heard (Wednesday before the following Monday council meeting). Individuals will be allotted five minutes; groups are allotted ten minutes.

Bicentennial Committee meetings are the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Herculaneum City Hall.

Historical Society meetings are the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Herculaneum City Hall.

Municipal court is held the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 6:30 PM at the Herculaneum City Hall.

Regular trash pickup day is on Tuesday of each week unless you live in "The Prairies Subdivision", "Westchester Subdivision", or South Scenic Drive, then it is on Friday. Monday is the pickup day for all recyclables.

Yard waste will be picked up on the first and third Wednesday of each month from May to October. November through April only on the third Wednesday of the month. Waste must be placed in brown paper yard waste bags (not plastic bags). Limbs will be picked up if they are bundled together and are no longer than four feet in length.

Bulk items will be collected on Monday of each week on an "On Call" basis.. Residents with bulk items to be collected must call Herculaneum City Hall before the close of business on the Friday before the Monday collection.

As part of the year-long celebration of Herculaneum's 200th Anniversary of its founding, the Bicentennial Committee is sponsoring a Fourth of July Fireworks Display in Herculaneum. The event will take place on Friday, July 4th at the Herculaneum Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds are located at the intersection of Joachim Avenue and Commercial Boulevard (Highway 61-67).

The event will begin at 12:00 noon with food and drink concessions available. Plans are underway for other activities to be held during the day. A St. Louis band, Cruzen, will perform from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Cruzen is a nine-piece variety dance band whose music includes pop, rock, Motown swing, disco and R & B. The Patriot Singers-American Legion Post 253 and the Chapter One Spirit of St. Louis Chorus will perform patriotic music prior to the fireworks display which begins at approximately 9:30 p.m. The fireworks will be provided by White Light Pyro of DeSoto, Missouri.
The event is free and open to the public.

The Bicentennial Committee is seeking individuals and groups who would like to have a food or concession booth at the event. Vendor spaces are available for $35.00 which includes electricity and water service.

The Bicentennial Committee is also seeking individuals and/or groups who would like to perform or sponsor an activity at the event. Interested parties should contact Herculaneum City Hall at 475-4447 or call 475-5476.

The event is sponsored by the Bicentennial Committee in partnership with the Herculaneum Amvets Post #42, the Herculaneum Fire Dept, Herculaneum Today & Tomorrow and the Herculaneum Park Board.
